I am pretty sure Ross would say I am ADDICTED to Matilda Jane!
Yes, it’s true.

And little miss prissy pants Harper quickly became a huge fan herself!
She LOVES wearing “Batilda Jane” because it is comfy, allowing her to play without being restricted, fun, with their bright, happy patterns and most of all absolutely adorable!

I can promise you that each penny invested is TOTALLY worth it!
I am sure some of you will look at the prices and think “HOW in the world can someone spend THAT much on an outfit for a 2 year old to wear?!”
Well, here is your answer…
Harper has a good many Matilda Jane outfits so I am speaking from personal experience here…
They last FOREVER and seriously look brand new even after being worn and washed many, many times!
The resale value of Matilda Jane is usually at retail value, if not higher…
Yea, that’s right.
You purchase an outfit and your little girl can wear it, then you can sell it to another mama USED for the same amount of $$ you paid for it… it not MORE depending on the “demand” for that particular outfit and if it is sold out, which most items do sell out because MJ is awesome and TONS of mamas all over are catching on to this amazing clothing company!

You can mix and match to many pieces that each piece can be worn numerous times without it looking like your child is wearing the same outfit everyday (and yes, they will want to wear Matilda Jane every day because it’s THAT comfy!)!

Matilda Jane has amazing clothes but the details are what makes their brand really stand out.
The details of each article of clothing is like it’s own little piece of artwork!
I mean every.single.teeny.tiny.detail from the buttons to the trim are amazing.

Did I mention they also create fabulous clothing for us Mamas too?!

(I LIVE in my MJ Ruffles …. seriously cute and soooo comfy!)

{The end of the road}

After lots of thought and prayer,
I have decided that my time blogging has come to an end.
This has been a great experience.
I truly enjoy and cherish all of the relationships that have developed as a result of JIAD.
I love connecting with each of you and sharing our love for crafting, God and life together!

My family is growing and I need to focus on being the best wife and mama I can be.
I do not want to look back on these precious days while my littles are still little and regret anything! I want to spend my days truly enjoying my children and spending time with my wonderful husband.

Thank each of you for supporting JIAD over the past two years.
It’s been a fun journey!
I will leave JIAD up and who knows, I may want to post something in a month or so…
but right now,
I am going to be a wife and a mama!

Floor Poof Tutorial {All Things Baby Guest Post}

All things baby

Hi, friends!
I’m Kendra and I’m visiting from The Good Life, where I blog about my Goodwill treasures, fashion finds, diy projects, and tutorials.

I’m so happy to be here today!
I love Johnny in a Dress and I’m excited for Natalie and her new baby!
Babies are such a wonderful blessing and I know she is treasuring this time!

Today, I’m going to share with you a tutorial for a floor cushion!

When I saw the original tutorial, I knew that it was a “must make” for my nursery. So, I headed to my trusty fabric stash and picked this yummy turquoise. This stack of fabric that was headed to Goodwill has come in so handy!

My mom helped me make this project! Actually, it was more like 70/30 and she was the 70. : )

We cut out two 22″ circles and the rectangular part that we used for the sides of the cushion. The original tutorial made the circles 17″, so we just sized up. We also made it taller (about 20″, instead of 9″). I hope my instructions aren’t too confusing, but there are super clear instructions (and all the measurements) on the original tutorial here.

I pinned the piping to the edge of the circles (fabric should be right-side-up). This project took about 5 yards of piping.

Then, my mom stitched the piping down. It’s much easier if you use a zipper foot on your machine.

I pinned the rectangular piece of fabric to one of the circles, right sides together…

…and my mom sewed it. I was on pinning duty, she was on sewing duty. We make a great team.

We did the same thing to the other side, but left a 6″-8″ opening to stuff our poof. Then, we turned it right-side-out and started stuffing.

Poly-fill is super expensive, so I bought these pillows from Wal-mart for $3.50 a piece and re-used the poly-fill that was inside. I needed 4 pillows (Since I made my poof taller, you may need less.), but it was still cheaper to buy the pillows than the stuffing. Just a tip. : )

We stuffed the poof pretty tight, because we knew that it would eventually get packed down, etc.

Then, I just hand-stitched the opening. And…I’m not going to show you a picture of that because, apparently, hand-stitching is not my thing. : )

Perfect for sitting, foot propping, baby standing, and my mom even suggested using it as a photo prop. Good idea!

Enjoying the Good Life,

Kendra

{Broken}

This morning while Harper and I were at physical therapy with Cliff,
our house was broken into.
Thankfully, I noticed something was not right before bringing the littles into the house and was able to get out safely.
I am so thankful that my children and I are ok.
I am so thankful for all of the men and women who put their lives on the line on a daily basis to save ours, seriously Policemen (and women) ROCK!

My laptop was stolen along with my iPad and some jewelry…
they tried to take the tv in the den and our desktop computer, but were spooked and left with what they already had in their hands.

That being said,
all of my pictures from the last three months are on the laptop…
along with a month’s worth of blog posts (yes, I had tutorials for July already written…).

I am going to do my best to try and rewrite most of the posts, take new pictures of the steps in the tutorials I had planned to share with all of you (they were awesome, if I do say so myself!)…

So if my posts are spotty for the next few weeks,
please know that I am busy trying to recreate the things I have already created, re photographing  projects and rewriting tutorials!

I appreciate your understanding, kind words and support!

Oh yea… and I’ll also be busy praying that the wonderful police officers catch that no good, piece of junk that broke into our home.

MIA & The SNAP Swag WINNER!

So, this week I have completely been taken over by…

the nesting bug.

Seriously, I am am MAD woman…

Actually, I am not too sure if it is really the nesting bug or something else…

My best friend, Jill, told me last weekend
“This is what you do when your life gets crazy… you distract yourself with projects!”

She is totally right!

Having BOTH littles go through surgery in the same week will just about drive any mama insane, so I cope with the aftermath of the chaos by obsessively redecorating, reorganizing, rearranging… pretty much RE-doing everything I can.

But starting next week,
I will be sharing all of my CRAZINESS with you,

which means TUTORIAL overload and new giveaways!

Yea!

Oh yea,
and in the mists of the craziness that has been my life for the past three weeks,
I totally forgot to announce the winner of the awesome SNAP Swag!

Oopsies!

So…

the winner is:
