Bow Tie & Tutu Birthday Party {Part 2}

Harper’s Birthday Party this year
just may be one of my favorites so far!

This year,
The Girl “got it!”

Harper woke up from her nap soooo excited and she ran the party,

just like a Birthday Girl should!

Crank up the bubble machine…

…and turn on some music…

THEN it was time to get this party started!

The littles busted out their best dance moves.

Even the boys got into it!

They looked so cute in their bow ties!

We were all surrounded by the sounds and excitement

that only pure happiness brings.

Harper was thrilled to be surrounded by the people she loves the most!

(Meet Bryce, Jill’s oldest and hopefully Harper’s future hubby!)

Then it was time to sing Happy Birthday.

This moment is always bitter sweet for me because it makes it “official…”

The Girl is TWO.

(even if her party was 3 months late)

Harper blew out her own candles this year!

She totally understood what to do…

(I still tried to show her how to blow out her candles

but she sooo did not need my help.)

Cupcakes.

Her favorite.

Actually, I think they are everyone’s favorite…

(Does it get any sweeter than that?!)

The little girls loved their tutus!

Harper was thrilled to be surrounded by her sweet friends…

…and family.

That’s what life is about – being surrounded by those you love!

Oh yea, scoring some fabulous new kicks is always a plus!

(Thank you DeDe!)

I still am in denial that my baby is TWO!

Where did the time go?!

Happy Birthday Sweet Harper!

I am sooo sorry your party was three months late…

you can blame baby Hollis for that!

(Just kidding!… kinda.)

Harper’s Bow Tie & TuTu {Birthday Party}

Our sweet Harper turned two (… 3 months ago)!

This year we celebrated with a Bow Tie & TuTu Party.

I am in LOVE with this chevron pennant banner inspired by this one.

Thanks to my Silhouette,

the cupcake toppers were created in no time!

These fun party lanterns were purchased from Hobby Lobby.

I ran twine through the center of each one so they could hang!

Aren’t they fun?!

I was thrilled that the little girls were eager to dance in the bubbles

with their tutus!

{Issues}

Truth be told Little Miss Priss has issues…
…at Birthday Parties that is.
While singing “Happy Birthday” she is fine!
When it’s time to cut  the cake… she is fine!
(unless the cake is in reach… then she just can’t help herself!)
While playing with her friends during the party she is fine!
But then when the time comes to open presents, something happens to our sweet little angel.

She just can’t seem to understand that MAYBE, just MAYBE the gifts belong to someone else…
When we try to explain to her that it is not HER birthday party.
Then it happens…
…she goes into a tizzy…

And her entire day is ruined…
…So, she tries to hijack another present…
and when we explain once more that her party is not TODAY…
…She STOMPS off…

…and tries to find someone who feels sorry for her!
This happened to be documented at Cliff’s Pirate Party, but this happens at EVERY party we have gone to in the past year.
Which causes me anxiety everytime Harper gets a party invitation…
So, I am just putting this out there as a warning…
If you invite Harper to your little’s party,
we may have to make an exit BEFORE it’s time to open presents!
It is just WAY too traumatic for our little Drama Queen to see someone else being showered with gifts!
Does your little do this?!
(PLEASE say “YES!” and make me feel better…)

Pirate Party Decor {Giveaway}

Ahoy Matey!

A few weeks ago we celebrated Cliff’s 4th birthday with a Pirate Party!

Cupcake toppers – a party must!
I created these with my Silhouette.
Love them!

Left: Party favors and telescopes I made with paper towel rolls wrapped in black card stock with fabric scraps tied around one end!
Middle: Hanging pirate pretties. These were hanging from the trees in our backyard! I found coasters at the Dollar Tree and hot clued two of them together with twine in the middle.
Right: Mason Jars filled with sand and a foe “map” were used to hold the table cloths down.
(I used this technique to create the maps)

Of course I HAD to have Tissue Pom Poms to hanging from the trees in our backyard!

For the little pirates we had juice boxes in a tin tub on the ground!
Simple and all the littles had to do was grab a drink!
They loved being independent!

And I couldn’t help but have some pretty flowers in small glass jars as a simple centerpiece on our outdoor table that we moved into the yard for the party.

Every Pirate Party HAS to have buried treasure!
We found this chest at the flea market for $8!
(I will share how I refinished it soon)
It was filled with pirate hats, eye patches, hooks and swords!
Needless to say,
our backyard was hijacked by little pirates!

Because we had a TON of loot left over, I want to give it to one of YOU instead of tossing it out!

Happy Birthday 4th Cliff!

Cliff,
Today you turn 4 years old!
I keep asking myself “what happened to my baby boy?” and “where has the time gone?”
You are amazing.
You are brilliant.
You are beautiful.
Everyday you make us laugh.
You make us smile.
You can turn the worst day into the best day with one of your hilarious stories.

You are so kind.
So loving.
You are caring and so very compassionate.
Although you are on a tougher path than most, you are always smiling.
Celebrating.
Finding the joy in life.
You are happy.
You are healthy.
You amaze us everyday with your strength and perseverance.

You work harder to complete everyday tasks than most people every will in their entire lives.
Yet you never complain.
You are the light of our lives.
You are our miracle.

You are a child of God.
Your faith is amazing.
You know God.
You trust God.
You love God.
God chose you, my sweet Boy, to be use as his teaching tool and you teach us beautifully.
You inspire everyone you come in contact with and even those you do not even know.
You are living proof of our Lord’s good work.
Happy Birthday Cliff!
We Love you!

Birthday Onesie!

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of making a first birthday onesie and bloomers for one of the cutest little girls ever to wear at her first birthday party!
Her super talented mama made her tutu!
Here is a close up of the outfit:
One thing  have learned from appliqueing many onesies for Harper is that the neckline HAS to have a ruffle if the onesie will be worn by a little princess! See what a difference it makes?!

Of course I had to make this cutie a gift for her first birthday!
…I’ll share that tomorrow!

Happy Birthday to…

ME!
And I want to give something to YOU!
And guess what?!

Brilliant Boy’s Birthday Idea!

Most of you know that Jill has two boys (6 months older and 7 months younger than Cliff – how awesome is that?!). This year she decided to merge the boy’s birthday parties together since they both have spring birthdays and have one big birthday bash! Of course the boys wanted completely different themes: Bryce wanted Cars and Evan wanted Toy Story. I have to admit, I wondered how in the world Jill would merge the two “cutely” and she totally pulled it off! Every little detail was absolutely perfect, Jill is amazingly talented! Check it out:
Jill’s awesome mother-in-law made both of the boys their own cakes AND cupcakes according to the themes they wanted! Pure talent!

Every detail was fabulous!

The boys were in heaven!

I can’t believe how fast they are growing! We are so grateful for these sweet little boys.

Not only did Jill have cake and cupcakes, but she also had ice cream complete with every topping you could EVER imagine!

Jill rocks! Can you believe how well she merged Toy Story and Cars together?! She made it look effortless! Isn’t this the BEST idea EVER?!

Harper’s 1st Birthday Party – Part Three!

Ok, This is the third and FINAL post for Harper’s first birthday!
Beautiful.
I am so thankful that God blessed us with such an amazing little girl!

A family shot!

Harper loved all of her gifts! She was standing by her presents staring at them for a good while and I finally broke down and let her open them!

She was so excited! (Everything Harper opened even pink or girlie, Cliff would say “I want that!” “Give me that!”…)

Harper was not too thrilled about the mess on her hands after we sang “Happy Birthday” to her! In fact she actually got upset and began to fuss until we removed the cake and cleaned her off!
I love her for that! A girl after my own heart!

Harper was super happy and played with EVERYTHING she received for her birthday later that night!

Harper’s first birthday party was so sweet and a ton of fun!

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate Harper’s first year of life!
We are so thankful for her!
Oh Yea! Don’t forget your party bag on the way out!
A fabulous party to celebrate our fabulous little girl!

Harper’s 1st Birthday Party – Part Two!

Alrighty, are you ready for Part Two of Harper’s party?!
 Here we go!
Harper’s “harper” banner in the den and our “Harper” mantle!
I had a blast decorating the mantle with girlie things! To the right is Harper’s plate! I ordered it from here and love how it turned out! I also had fun with adding pops of feathers in unexpected ways like this glass jar that is overflowing with feathers! So much fun!

Oh and the pearls! Such a neat touch:

Since I put the first set of pom pom balls I made in Harper’s room, I switched things up a bit in our kitchen! …Yes, More pom pom balls (different colors) and a Lantern too! (Thanks Sherri for getting Harper the Lilly Lantern! Love it!)

Seriously, I can’t stop making these things… but they made our kitchen look so happy!

I like to have everyone at the party sign something at my children’s first birthday parties. I painted this frame for Harper and added a bow to it! It will be the perfect addition to her room!
Here is what her daddy wrote to her. It made me cry! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and our children are so blessed to have the best daddy in the world!

So sweet!
Tomorrow will wrap up the “Party Posts!” And I will reveal the Birthday Girl and all of her cuteness!
