Last weekend was by far the craziest weekend we have had in a LONG time…
but we all survived and at 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning, we hopped on a plane to St. Louis!
(For those of you who are new to JIAD start here at the bottom)
The best thing about flying that early is being able to watch the sun rise.
This is what I imagine when I think of Heaven!
Seriously, it was breathtakingly stunning.
The Boy enjoyed playing his “iPad” while Ross and I closed our eyes and sat in silence. Embracing a moment of peace and quiet.
Before we knew it,
we were THERE!
And once again as we rounded the corner and The Children’s Hospital was in sight,
I am pretty sure I heard the Choir of Angels.
Yep.
It’s still magical to us.
Cliff was thrilled to be at HIS hotel and I am pretty sure they would hire him to man the elevators if he asked for a job.
We were all so thrilled to be in St. Louis!
It will always be our favorite city because it’s is where Cliff’s legs were “fixed”
and everyone here embraces Cliff beautifully.
Sometimes I wonder if his walker is invisible here.
Ross dug through my purse and found some change then taught The Boy about making a wish when he tossed coins in the fountain.
It was such a sweet moment that I will never forget.
Then a sweet lady stopped and said “give me that camera and get in that picture with your family!… Ok, everyone say CHEESE!… one, two, THREE!”
Then we found The Cheesecake Factory where we all ate WAAY to much!
The highlight of my morning was this:
The highlight of Cliff’s morning was this:
Yep.
Cliff raided The Disney Store where he took full advantage of the fact that Ross and I both have “looming surgery guilt” and we just couldn’t say “no!’”
We spent the afternoon with Dr. Park and at physical therapy!
Cliff did great and we can’t wait to share with you what Dr. Park said!
Check back in the morning for the details on our appointment with Dr, Park and how Cliff blew through the PT evolution!
(I have a hungry boy to feed, so we are off to dinner! )

loving his bow tie…cant wait to hear the news!!!
What a handsome little man you have!
I am praying for you guys!
I love the Galleria! It’s so fun!
I *really* hope I get to meet ya’ll while you’re still in town! Your little man is stealing my heart.
His bow tie is fabulous!
St. Louis is where I was born, raised and am now raising my own family! It’s a great city!
Hi! I stumbled across your blog while searching for DIY ruffled pants. Your story is inspiring. I live in St. Louis (well, the suburbs) and I loved seeing the city through a visitor’s eyes. Good luck to your family and incredible journey. My friend’s child went to Children’s Hospital to get his legs “fixed” too.
Prayers for your family!
