The Zoo!

Last week I took The Girl to the Zoo with her buddies Tyler and Caroline!
(Their Mama blogs over at Twice Blessed)

We are so lucky to have a wonderful Zoo so close to us!
Harper had the time of her life looking at all of the animals and trying to keep up with Tyler and Caroline!

Harper is fearless…
and I am pretty sure Mr. Giraffe would have totally gone home with us if he could!

Really,
They had a major THING going on between the two of them!

Watching Harper go off and explore on her own broke my heart and made me so proud at the same time.
The Girl is growing up and there is nothing I can do about it
except try to capture each ounce of “little” that is left in her.

Harper wanted to “swim wif da panguin” so bad!
She did not understand why she couldn’t just hop into the
tank with them and swim away!

After we studied each animal at the Zoo,
it was time to ride the carousel!
Harper could not contain her excitement.
She “oooooh’d and ahhhhh’d” the entire ride!
She would giggle and say “Wook! She’s widing a tiger!”

She was so tickled with herself!

Her excitement was contagious!

We rode the carousel twice because it was just THAT much fun!

This little outing with JUST Harper made me realize just
how important it is to have one on one time with each child!
Ross and I decided that next month,
Cliff will have a special outing with just Mama (and hopefully Daddy too!)!
Seeing Harper shine was so sweet.
She definitely needed a little one on one time!
… and so did I!
