Cliff's {Birth Story}

I wasn't sure if I wanted to share this video.
I have gone back and forth for some time now.
Cliff was born at 31 weeks.
My labor with him was brutal and he was very "beat up" when he was born.
He could not breathe and was extremely close to losing his life.
The images of his birth are very hard to see.
Ross and I cry every time we watch it because it is so hard to see Cliff fighting for his life.
He was pretty much lifeless when he was born.
I decided to share this video with you because Cliff's birth is such a HUGE part of his story!
To us, Cliff's birth story is beautiful because
we watched God perform a miracle right before our eyes.

I pray that as you are watching this video,
you too can see the beauty of Cliff's birth.

This is Cliff's birth story:

Cliff still amazes us everyday!

 Isn't God is so good?!

Our "New" Kitchen!

Last fall, we painted our kitchen cabinets and the walls!
It is AMAZING what a few cans of paint can do...

Want to see what our kitchen looked like before?!
Here is a peak:
(you can find a "before" post here)

(I am not too sure why that one cabinet looks like it is a different color, but I promise it wasn't!)

Ross and I were amazed that the brick wall had gray in it!
The Gray paint really made it POP!

On the side a cabinet hangs this fun chalkboard for the littles to play with while I am preparing meals!
I bought a mirror from Walmart, , spray painted the glass with chalkboard paint and the frame white to match the cabinets!
This is definitely a hit!

And because everything in our house is centered around the kids,
Ross's table from when he was a little boy is in the center of our kitchen!
(Of course I am DYING to paint it... but the Hubs said NO WAY!)

Isn't amazing how a little paint can totally transform the feeling of a room?!

The one downside of our kitchen is that there is no space for a kitchen table...
But that's ok because now I have a street lamp in the kitchen with a fun bench!
The street lamp was purchased at Lowe's.
It was originally about $160 but we got it for $50!
Gotta love a great deal!

I am in LOVE with this gray and am thinking about painting our Master Bedroom in this color!
Doesn't it have a cool, calming effect?!

Just in case you want to know,
Here are the paint colors we used in our kitchen:

"Essential Gray" Sherwin Williams #6002 (for the walls)
&
"Pure Whitet" Sherwin Williams #7005 (for the caninets)

 Happy Monday!

Baby Update : 15 weeks!

I am 15 weeks today!
This pregnancy is FLYING by, which kind of freaks me out because...
I still can't seem to wrap my mind around how to get of the house with THREE littles!
(tips from you moms with many littles are welcome and very much needed!)

I haven't been sleeping well at ALL the past week.
But one super exciting thing happened when I was staring at the ceiling at 3 am...
I felt the baby move THREE times (at 14 weeks 4 days)!
This was the first time I was SURE it was the baby!
So neat and so sweet!

We went to my Doctors office yesterday morning for an ultrasound before heading over to the
hospital to get my cerclage.

I was super excited to find out if  "Three" is a boy or a girl...
but the baby had other plans.
After 45 minutes of poking the belly, shaking the belly, laying on my side, going to the bathroom,
switching from an abdominal ultrasound to an internal ultrasound, then back to an abdominal ultrasound
it was determined that the baby wants to keep it's gender a secret... for now!
No matter which angle we tried, the baby would move it's bottom away from the screen!
I will go back next week for my post op check up and will get ANOTHER ultrasound then.
They said that this time they will not let me leave without knowing whether we need to buy Pink or Blue!
Most importantly, the baby looks perfectly healthy!

Here is Baby #3 at 14 weeks 6 days wearing the umbilical cord like a boa, which makes me think it may be a girl!
(We showed Harper how the baby wants to ba like "Fancy Nancy" too and she was thrilled!)

Near the end of the ultrasound, the baby put it's hand over it's face as if to say
"Geeez, will you just leave me alone already?!"
(...already acting like a teenager!)

Then it happened.
The ultrasound tech switched back to my belly and said "oooh I think we got it this time!"
... then two little hands floated on the screen and  the baby covered it's private area...
and we all laughed!

After the ultrasound, we headed to the hospital where I had my cerclage placed.
I chose to get another spinal instead of being put to sleep because it is safer for the baby.
They only thing about that choice is that it is soooo strange to be awake in the operating room.
But the nurses and my Doctor are fabulous and made sure I was super comfy.

It went MUCH better this time because everyone was aware of the complications I had  last
time. They all decided the pain from last time was due to the fact that after receiving a saddle block,
my bladder was SUPER numb and my bladder was OVER-full, which is extremely painful.
So, in recovery, they kept scanning my bladder with an ultrasound machine and would empty it
since I wasn't able to go potty myself since my bladder was so numb.
The pain would get intense when my bladder was full, but as soon as it was emptied, the pain was gone!
I am taking Indocin to stop contractions and will be able to stop taking it tomorrow.
We were finally able to come home last night and the baby and I are doing great!
I have a fetal doppler at home, so we listened to the baby this morning and
it's little heart is just beating away which
is so comforting because I have been off my blood thinners for 48 hours.
This weekend I am on bedrest taking it easy and eating all the yummy food that
family and friends brought over!
Thank you all for your prayers and support!

Next week we WILL find out if this baby is a boy or a girl!
What do you think it is?!

"Dance Kwass!"

A few weeks ago The Girl started her first "dance kwass!"

It is seriously the cutest thing I have EVER seen!

I dreamed of this moment when she was in my belly.
I get all teary eyed because this moment is here and it is better than I dreamed it would be.

Sometimes she demands to wear her Tutu Leg Warmers
from one of our fabulous sponsors Byrd Legs to "dance kwass!"

So, we put them on and of course she rocks them!
Sometimes The Girl needs to wear an outfit almost as big as her personality is!

Add a matching bow and she was ready to go!
Love it!

We love seeing Harper shine in dance even if she is all dramatic and has a complete melt down when "dance kwass" ends...

I can't wait to see the recital!
(I just hope she doesn't knock any of the other ballerinas off the stage...)

Pinned it, Made it, Love it!

I ran across this super cute and happy sign on Pinterest:

Pinned Image

I wanted it SOOO bad, but the link on Pinterest just pulled up the picture...
(UPDATE: You can purchase this sign here from the fabulous Susie Harris )
sooooo, I made my own!

And it hangs in our kitchen right where we will see it first thing every morning...
and throughout the day!

In the middle of the chaos that comes along with having
a child with CP, a tantrum throwing toddler and managing a high risk pregnancy,
this sign is a nice reminder that
"EVERY little thing IS gonna be ALRIGHT!"

When I walk into our kitchen I smile.
Every.single.time.

Happy Monday!

Oh yea, did I tell you that we completely repainted our ENTIRE kitchen including the cabinets?!
The kitchen reveal is coming up next week!
I can't wait to show you!

Linky Followers!

Remember that post last week abut Google Friend Connect?!
Well, in a few weeks it will be GONE...
and no one knows what to expect.
Will the 1280 of you who follow JIAD through GFC still get updated posts?
NO ONE seems to know...
Well a bunch of bloggers are jumping on the Linky Follower band wagon because there is a rumor that
GFC will eventually be complelely phased out all together.

If you haven't already,
head on over to Linky Followers and create an account today!
Then come on back and follow JIAD through Linky Followers over on our sidebar, leave me a comment saying you did
and I will for sure follow you back!

This is all about
supporting each other as we transition from GFC to Linky Followers!

I love each comment, email and
most of all, the connections we have formed over the past 1 1/2 years!
Each of you inspire me and I really want to make sure no one gets
"lost" when the GFC widget is disabled.

Happy Sunday!

Baby Update: week 13!

Today, I am 14 weeks along!
When is that second trimester "boot of energy" supposed to kick in?!
My nausea is finally calming down a little but I am still having to take Zofran pretty much everyday to prevent the throw ups...
Yuck!

The "bump" is now more like a BELLY that seems to grow daily!
I am seriously worried about how big my belly will be this time around...
Ross thinks I won't be able to stand up in a few months!

{13 weeks 1 day}

I had an ultrasound yesterday and they tried to tell us if the baby is a boy or a girl...
but the baby was sitting like this:

Yep.
Legs crossed for the ENTIRE 20 minute ultrasound!
Good thing I already have another one scheduled for next week before my surgery!
(HOPEFULLY baby will cooperate then... we will see!)

 More importantly,
everything looks perfect and HEALTHY with Three!
Ross and I are so thankful!

Here is a hand:

{13 weeks 6 days}

A face picture with an arm too:

{13 weeks 6 days}

Baby sucking it's thumb (I love this!):

{13 weeks 6 days}

Baby tossing up a gang sign:
(LOL! Totally kidding! It was waving to us!)

Next Friday, I will go into surgery to have my cerclage placed.
Please pray that I will not have the excruciating pain I felt the last time.
Please pray that the baby does well during the procedure.

Most of all, please pray that the baby continues to be healthy and this pregnancy progresses smoothly!
Thank you all for your support and prayers!

Rub-a-dub two littles in the tub!

Every evening after dinner the littles race down the hallway to their bathroom...
to take a "Baf"(as Cliff says) and a "Bap" (according to Harper)!
It always goes a little something like this:

Excited squeals, high pitched laughter and "wook, bubbles!" echo through our house!
You would think they have never been in a bath tub before - the excitement always makes me smile.

His captivating smile...

And the girl's best "fishy face" are priceless.

Splashes and more squeals.
Pure happiness.

And of course there HAS to be some type of altercation...

...but usually it lasts about five seconds and the simles are back again!

Rub-a-dub-dub!
