Knife Block – Your questions answered!

Lately my inbox has been flooded with questions about my Knife Block.
Today,
I will answer your questions!
I spray painted the wooden knife block a few good coats of Krylon Catalina Mist.
Once the first color was dry, I spray painted ONE thin coat of Krylon’s Ivy Leaf.
(The coats of spray paint should be thin and no paint should go down into the holes for the knives)
I let the paint dry COMPLETELY.
Then I sanded the knife block by hand allowing the Catalina Mist to come through until I got the look I wanted.
I cut out the “P” using my Silhouette and transferred it onto the front of my knife block.
If you do not have a Silhouette, you can find similar stickers at your local craft store.
(most likely in the scrapbooking isle)
And that’s how it was done!
Easy Peasy!

Thank You, thank you, thank you! I hate the look of ours and was contemplating putting the knives in a drawer rather than having my ugly knife block stay on the counter. I'm sooo doing this!!

    nice block,
My main question though is how do you like your Silhouette? Maybe you could do a post about what you think of it and how it works etc. I am looking into getting one but I am unsure if I have to use their paper only, etc. I would love to know your opinion and view.

Cute, I like it so much better than that plain old wood. I have one I put away somewhere. Wonder where it is? Maybe I gave it to charity. Not sure, got tired of the plain old wood. Didn't think to paint it cute like yours.

I so so love this much prettier than the plain wood block. Thanks for the inspiration. Thank you for sharing and for linking up to last weeks show and share party. Please come back this week and share your latest project with us.

I love the look! I want to do that. One question… how did you prevent the paint from going into the holes when painting the top?
