shelf.

The shelf in our playroom used to look like this….
084

Then my awesome little sister came by with this shelf she picked up on the side of the road (yep, she is my “side of the road picker” in training!) It had a ton of potential, but needed a good bit of TLC!
057
I gave it a light sanding then went straight to spray painting it:
061
After three coats of spray paint and letting it dry COMPLETELY, I got out my super cheap acrylic paint…
065
a sponge brush (comes in a big pack at the Dollar Tree)…
216
and painted the cracks and corners of each shelf.
068
Then I took a damp rag and wiped the excess paint off to give it a “glazed” look.
072
See?!
075
Then before I knew it, that dull bookshelf looked like this:
079
And now it lives happily in our playroom…
129
and it looks especially cute with my ruffle lamp on it!

I love the playroom wall. Where did you get the frames for the kids' artwork? Are those painted on or vinyl? I love them!!!
