Conductive Education.

For the past two weeks, Cliff has been going to The Therapy Place for THREE hours of intense physical activity – this program is called Conductive Education. Everyday when I walk in to pick him up, I see this:

Even after three whole hours of sweating and working very hard, he is smiling, happy, excited, proud.
Krisztina is AMAZING! She is loves these children as if they were her own (you can see it on her face, look at the way she is looking at Cliff in all of these pictures – we heart her!). She has FAITH in these littles, when other’s say “no he can’t” she confidently says “yes he can!” – and you know what? YES HE CAN! She is wonderful and Cliff loves her to pieces (I think he may have a little crush)! 
 Check out who can stand with minimal support with his hands down – the natural “reflex” for Cliff is to pull his hands up to his chest for balance, but not anymore!
Flat feet – most of us do not even think about the importance of this, but for Cliff, this is huge, amazing and super exciting for him!
Cliff’s new trick – Totally supporting himself and balancing too!

And look at what he is doing now…
Cliff is working on standing up from squatting – I was fighting back tears when I saw him do this. This takes tremendous strength and balance.
This boy is amazing.
We are so, so, SO proud of Cliff!

I wanted to share with you a few Bible Verses that we share with Cliff:

God is soooo wonderful to us.
Watching Cliff overcome the hardships that come with Cerebral Palsy, we are witnessing God’s work right before our eyes.  
We are so thankful for all of our blessings.

Baby Gate.

In the doorway of our kitchen leading into the mudroom, there is a RED gate…

It used to be plain and blah… boring and dull… until I had an idea…

You aren’t surprised?!
Now our boring, blah baby gate is fabulous and fun!
When in doubt, spray paint the boring out!

And after they are done with the HAPPYTOT pouches, more HAPPYPUFFS are consumed! I think we go through one canister every other day – really, I think we are addicted (yes… I eat them too… is that weird?!)!

Tomato Festival!

A few girlfriends and I went to the Tomato Festival recently… and we had a blast!

Who knew there were sooooo many kinds of tomatoes?!

The location of the festival was at a local farm that grows all kinds of yummy organic foods.
Really, it was beautiful.
There were fun games and a ton of food!

Beauty was everywhere.

I was shocked at the amount of people who came out to support local farmers and restaurants!
It was AWESOME!

After the Tomato Festival, we went down town to The Rooftop Bar for some girl talk!
Yep.
The bar is on top of this building overlooking the city - how cool is that?!

I feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful place. It is so easy to overlook the beauty that surrounds us everyday but I made a point to “notice” every little bit of prettiness our city has to offer.

We watched the sunset at The Rooftop Bar, which was breathtakingly beautiful.

This was a much NEEDED girl’s date!
I had so much fun and am so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people.

Mason Jar Centerpiece

Meet my latest centerpiece on our dining room table:
A local reader found this old crate, THREE boxes full of mason jars and a TON of old shutters on the side of the road… and she thought of… ME – how freakin’ sweet is that?! (Thanks Misty!) Here is a before picture of the old crate:
Of course I did what I do best and painted that bad boy, but I made sure to take the handle off first – I LOVED the old look to it and did not want to paint it. Then I placed six of the thirty (YES, t-h-i-r-t-y) mason jars in the center of the crate – AFTER I put them all in the dishwasher and ran them through a “sterilize” cycle because I am nuts like that…

I am completely obsessed with mason jars… like I dream about ways to use them at night… aren’t they fun and beautiful?! 
And the original handle just “makes” this centerpiece.
Pop in the last of the Hydrangeas that are actually still kind of alive in our backyard and…
besides the 1/4 can of spray paint this centerpiece is
FREE!
Just because something looks pretty doesn’t mean it has to be expensive – Be creative, think outside of the box and create beauty using the things you have on hand.
…I can’t wait to show you what I did with all those shutters and all of the ways I am using the other 24 mason jars!

Vlog?

I thought it would be fun to do a Q & A vlog!
What do you think?!
I get emails all the time asking questions about RANDOM stuff (don’t worry, I LOVE hearing for all of you – your emails make my day!). So, I thought it would be fun to have all of you submit ANY question you want have about me, my family, my blog, my crafts, my life and then I will “vlog” the answers!
Here are some guidelines:
1. Please keep it clean and sweet (I mean you don’t want to see me cry, I have that ugly crying face… really.)
2. If the questions are TOO personal, like kind of freak me out personal, then I probably will not address them…. because if it freaks me out, it must be REALLY personal (an example: What type of bra or panties do you wear?… see that’s just plain weird…)
3. I am completely comfortable talking about Cliff and his disability, so if there is something you are curious about, ask away – it does not hurt my feelings- this is called “raising awareness!”
4. I am completely talking about my faith and my relationship with God!
5. Have fun with this! Really, this is supposed to be fun, so ask away!
The questions will be “compiled” into categories that I will address in my first vlog!
