Summer is in full swing.
The thermometers in our cars read 100 degrees (sometimes higher…).
Afternoon thunderstorms roll in and exit just as fast as they appeared.
Every weekend we make the drive to the lake and the littles squeal with delight when we drive over the dam and they get the first glimpse of the lake:
They hate them.
But the life jackets must be worn and that’s that.
Floating the summer days away. Right now that water is the perfect temperature. Not too cold but just cool enough to make you feel alive when you jump in.
The girl loves the water just like her big brother.
It’s crazy to think this time last year I was nursing Harper on the boat and now she demands a “Ba Ba.”

And this year Cliff gets to “feed” Harper. He loves being the big brother.
And when Harper is finished with her “snack,” she returns the favor and feeds Cliff his:
They REALLY do love each other and it melts my heart every time I happen to catch a moment like this:
Cliff teaching Harper how to “text.” A true act of love.
This is the ultimate sign that summer is REALLY here:
Soaking up the rays, a favorite summer past time.
The boy is a little fish. He LOVES the pool and I am sure that by the end of this summer, he will be swimming on his own.
