No Turning Back!

Today we fly out to St. Louis. Please say a little prayer for our little Cliff. He has a very long, tough road ahead of him. My posts may be at very random times in the days to come, but I will keep all of you updated! Thank you for keeping Cliff in your thoughts and prayers!

From today until December 1st my Blog will be all about Cliff, his surgery and recovery! Thank you for your support and understanding! DON’T worry though! I have some awesome tutorials and ideas waiting for you when we return home!

Santa’s Little Helpers

Are very, very busy!
…Oh I cannot wait for Christmas Day, this one’s gonna be good!

*EDIT: Ok, Ok, I can’t STAND it! I gotta show you a little sneak peak (Santa emailed me a picture the other day, let me tell you, they have been very, very busy up there at the North Pole!)!

This is for Harper, it is her FIRST Christmas:

Yep! That’s right! Her very own play kitchen!

(…Details will be shared AFTER Christmas!)

Christmas Wreath Tutorial!

Last week I showed you my Christmas Wreath! Wanna know how I made it?! Well, here you go!
Take a plain grapevine wreath:

Start tying ribbons into knots onto the wreath.

Then add more sizes and lengths (Look familiar? I used the left over ribbon from my Christmas Ribbon Garland!) until you get the “look” you want!

For the “P”, I got a plain wooden letter from Hobby Lobby and spray painted it red. It was a little plain for me, so I decided to get some lime green paint and put polka dots on it!
The eraser of a pencil makes the perfect dots (a little trick I have used for years!)!

…keep “dotting!”
Then I decided it needed a little “sparkle,” so I put green glitter onto the “P!” (make sure your “dot” paint is still wet so the glitter will stick!)
And then…
A cute “P” for my Christmas Wreath!
It got late and I got tired so I don’t have picture for the next part, but I think you can handle it! I added red and green ornaments on the wreath to fill in the gaps that the ribbon didn’t quite cover. I tied the ornaments into the wreath and then put a tiny dot of hot glue where the ornament touched the wreath to hold it into place. This is what it ended up looking like:
Yay! That was easy, right?!

Harper’s First Thanksgiving Dress!

The other night I decided Harper HAS to have a cute outfit for her very first Thanksgiving. A little last minute, I know, but this Thanksgiving we will be ”feasting” in Cliff’s hospital room! I have ”other” things that I am focused on at the moment, but this will be Harper’s first Thanksgiving, so I need to make it as special as I can!  I found this awesome tutorial then started sewing away and this is Harper’s First Thanksgiving Dress:
I tried the dress on her and then I decided she needed a matching headband!
Such a sweet little addition to complete her outfit!
This dress was so quick and easy to make that I decided she HAD to have two! (and within in the next week I am SURE she will have many, many more)
Then I decided ….I want one too!
…Is it bad that I am jealous of my baby’s clothes?!

Now back to the Tea Towel Tutorial:

I decided it was time to make a Christmas Ornament Tea Towel!

Super Cutie!
Here’s how I did it:
I had a pack of tea towels (from Walmart! They come in a pack of 5, I think..)
Then I took “Heat n Bond Ultrahold”…

And applied it to the fabric I wanted. (Follow the directions that come in the pack.)

Then, I traced a coffee mug! So just look around your house for something round that is the same size that you want your ornament to be!
I cut out the circle and ironed it onto my tea towel. Then I hand painted a whimsy hook. But it just didn’t look finished so I decided to add a ruffle at the bottom!
But it still needed “something”… so I decided to hand paint a “P” on the ornament and that was the perfect little detail to make it look finished:

Now it hangs “cutely” on my dishwasher!
What fabric combinations will you use on your Christmas Tea Towel?!

Got Glass?!

Then fill it with ornaments!
So simple and pretty!

He makes me…

Smile until my cheeks hurt.

 Laugh uncontrollably.
Act like a little kid.
Love more than I ever though possible.
I Thank God for letting him live.
