Christmas Ribbon Garland!

Yesterday I admitted my love obsession with Christmas! Just saying the word “Christmas” makes me super happy (try it!)! I showed you a little teaser and now I am here to deliver….
So, here is how I made my Christmas Ribbon Garland!
Pick out your favorite Christmas Ribbon(s). I decided to use three different ribbons that I love.

Cut a piece of red ribbon (mine was 5/8 in wide) the length of your mantle (or wherever you want to put it) plus a little extra for play.  (I did not get a picture of this, but it is in the top left corner of the picture below)

Cut the ribbon in strips (mine were about 22 inches long – cut longer for a wider garland and shorter for a thinner garland) it does not have to be perfect! I also snipped a piece of ribbon off the roll as I went, that way if I had any left over I would not be stuck with strips of ribbon.

Fold the strip in half.

Take the lose ends and tie a slip knot around the long piece of ribbon (the main first piece you cut). Pull tight to secure to the main piece of ribbon.

Fluff the ribbon you just tied in a slip knot and then slide down the main piece of ribbon until it is right next to the piece you did before.

I decided to do a little pattern (stripped ribbon, red ribbon, red ribbon, argyle ribbon) and eventually ended up with this:

Seeing all of this Christmas goodness makes me so incredibly happy!
…. walking in a winter wonderland….
(ha! I don’t think we have ever had snow at Christmas down here…)
