Pumpkin Pickin Fun!

Pickin the perfect pumpkin takes patience. (try to say that 5 times fast!)

It also takes a good inspector.

Sometimes it seems all of the pumpkins are perfect.

But with a closer look and some help from your pumpkin pickin partner, a defect is usually spotted.

Most pumpkin pickers gravitate towards the largest pumpkin in the patch.

Picking the perfect pumpkin in the patch is exhausting.

Check back tomorrow to see Cliff and Harper's Halloween Costumes!

Gamecock Girl!

I decided Harper needed a cute "Game Day Outfit" to wear on Saturdays during football season!

This is super fast and easy:
I took a red turtleneck, and black and white fabric. Then ironed Wonder Under on the fabric, drew an "h", cut it out, ironed it onto the turtleneck and sewed around the edges! Cute, but I thought it needed a little something else so I made this teeny bow and hand stitched it onto the top of the "h!"

This was the final product:

All ready for the Game!

Make your own...

Faux Moss Balls!

At the Dollar Store the other day I found a pack of three foam balls (3in) and a pack of moss.

I then took the balls and put hot glue on one section of it.
note: do small sections because hot glue dries fast!

Take the moss and put onto the section that you just hot glued.
...continue to glue and put moss onto the ball until the whole ball is covered and...

Bam! Three faux Moss Balls for $2!

Sure beats the pricey ones out of the catalogs! (They look the same too!)

note: if you have extra time, spray paint your foam balls green before adding the moss. That way you wont have to worry if a little bit of the foam ball is exposed!

A little Change!

Notice anything different about my Blog?!

Look right under the header and there are little words like "Home, Contact, FAQ 's, Special Needs"

Yep! I have added "Pages" to my Blog! Super exciting (ok, ok, not life changing or anything...)!

So take a look around and let me know if you like the new additions to my Blog! (I can't lie, it kind of feels like a new pair of shoes to go with my favorite outfit! *squeal*)

Oh yea! I am also planning on adding a "Tutorials" page too! I just need to figure out a few details first!

Have a happy Thursday!

*Edit: The Tutorials Page is now up! Yippie! Now  you can easily view my Tuts!

Fair Time!

In our part of the woods, the Fair is the first true sign of Fall!

Those of you who know me know that I do NOT like the Fair. The germs, all the people, the food (the thought of "fried butter" makes me sick!) and there are many more reasons, but I will not go into that! So I have put off taking Cliff to the fair for the past THREE years and thought that I could surely ignore all of the "Fair" hype this year and maybe Ross would not notice it... Well that was not the case! Ross told me that we have to take Cliff to the fair this year no matter what! So I hesitantly said "alright, we'll go...."

I must say I am so glad we did!

Cliff played a duck game!

He won a frog!

And the lights were so pretty when the sun began to set!

Cliff and Harper were both mesmerized.

Cliff loved watching the rides, but was not interested in riding any (FINE by me... less germs!).

We ate....

And ate....

did I mention we ate?...

Needless to say, we had a great time at the "There!" (As Cliff calls it)

A little Refashion!

A family friend was about to toss this dress:

She decided to see what I could do with it instead and I am so glad she thought of me!

I turned it into this:

I just love it! It is super comfy and easy to wear while playing with the kids!

It kind of brings out the kid in me too:

So instead of tossing that old top or giving your old dress away, try to look at it in a different light! With a little snip and sew  you can have a whole new outfit!

PS- This seriously took me about 20 minutes, if that!

Harper's New Trick!

1. Stand up at ottoman and place toy in mouth.

2. Purposely drop on floor then immedealty lean down to pick up.

3. Proudly stand back up and toss toy onto ottoman.

4.  Repeat steps 1-3 all over again.

Oh, the simple life.

Cliff's dream came true!

Well the day Cliff has been dreaming of for the past three years came true last Sunday!

He got to meet Cocky!

I could feel his excitement from the moment he first laid eyes on him:

Cocky showed Cliff a few of his best tricks...

And then gave him a high five! (Cliff is still talking about this!)

This picture is now in Cliff's room! This was by far the highlight of 2010 in Cliff's eyes!

Go Cocks!

The Harper Dress!

A little dress for Harper:

She would not stay still long enough for me to photograph her dress properly...

Showing off her signature downward dog (I totally should get down there with her and do some of these...)

Maybe one day I can get her to stay still long enough for a better shot of The Harper Dress!

Master Bedroom Re-Do!

Ok, so without further adieu...

A little peak into our "new" new (because we haven't lived in this house for that long) Master Bedroom!

This lamp used to be black with a tan lamp shade = boring with no color. I made these ruffles and painted the base of the lamp a very lime green! I like to go wild with something simple like a lamp because it is easy to remove and not expensive to replace when you get tired of it!

A closer view:

Here is our dresser that is now where our bed used to be. Why I put our bed there, I still cannot figure out... I guess I was exhausted from the move and having an infant so I just threw the bed into the Master and it stayed where it landed???

Isn't the orange owl a fun, uexpected pop of color?!

Our bed is now in front of another set of windows which acts as our headboard! (I seriously could do a whole post about getting our old, huge headboard into the attic... geeez! What a disaster that was!)
I made these pillows for our bed! They were inspired by these at Make It and Love It and the flowers were inspired by these over at The Pleated Poppy. I love this fabric and was so excited to finally use it.

Aren't they bunches of fun?!

And this was my "splurge" although I got it 50% off! In a lot of my decorating catalogs are these tall mirrors simply leaning on the wall in Master Bedrooms. I loved the look but not the price of the mirrors. So I began looking and then Hobby Lobby came to the rescue with this cutie:

Now I absolutely love our master bedroom! Before I couldn't stand to be in there unless I was sleeping because it just was not "finished" looking, the bed was not centered in the room, the headboard covered part of the window, blah blah blah... I could go on forever, but I will spare you!

So there it is! My "new" new Master!
